Vehicle Fuse Block

Our customer injection molds intricate automotive components. This application is for a vehicle fuse block. The customer had an existing shuttle that removes the finished parts (two at a time) from the press and delivers them to a drop off. We designed and built an aligning nest that their shuttle could drop the parts to. Once their shuttle was clear we tightly located the parts in the nests and shuttled them out of the Press Work area. At the end of the shuttle we installed a robot to lift the parts out of the shuttle (one at a time). The robot presents the part to a vision system to inspect all of the cavities and assure the part is molded properly. When the vision system approves the part, the robot delivers the approved, finished part to a conveyor for final operator packaging.
